The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deliver scientific knowledge and ensure that ocean science can fully support countries’ actions to sustainably manage the ocean and to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Regional Arctic Ocean Decade Planning Workshop

29 April – 1 May, 2020 in Copenhagen, Denmark

The Regional Arctic Ocean Decade Planning Workshop is part of a global consultation process in preparation of the UN Ocean Decade where the focus is on the Arctic. It offers an opportunity to formulate, discuss and prioritize proposals for Arctic initiatives to be addressed during the Decade.

The workshop is hosted by the Danish Center for Marine Research in collaboration with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). More information about the workshop is soon to be annouced.

The Workshop will integrate and build upon the key ocean policy and sustainable development actions identified during the Arctic Ocean Decade Policy-Business-Science-Dialogue, hosted by the Norwegian Research Council 29 January 2020 in Tromsø, Norway.
